NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- After such a long time (some might call it a nightmare), the Center Ridge Road project in North Ridgeville may be coming to an end.

Each week, the updates from the Ohio Department of Transportation are getting shorter. In addition, the nature of the improvements is beginning to look more like finishing work.

So, here is the update for the week of Aug. 10. You can judge for yourself if the nightmare might soon be over.

First, the general information this week from ODOT:

· The concrete crew will continue forming, grading and pouring concrete on curb cut-out areas and sidewalks, and finish up on any remaining driveway aprons on Center Ridge Road.

· Lighting foundations and conduit are being installed from Ohio 83 toward the western end of the project.

· The work on the retaining walls by Chemical Bank and between the Aldi’s entrance and Center Ridge Storage will continue with the placement of rebar, followed by preparing to pour concrete.

Center Ridge Road work west of Jaycox Road:

· The concrete crew will be at various places forming and/or pouring concrete in curb and gutter cut-out areas, sidewalks and driveway aprons.

· Grading, filling and compacting of 304 stone is being done for the multi-use pathway on the south side.

· Installation of foundation and conduit for the streetlights will continue.

· Retaining wall installation will continue from the entrance to Aldi’s to Center Ridge Storage and by Chemical Bank.

Center Ridge Road work east of Jaycox Road:

· Filling and grading continues behind the curb, gutters and sidewalks.

Ohio 83:

· Crews will be working on installing the storm sewer and catch basins on the west side of Ohio 83.

· Prepping for the installation of curbs and gutters will begin in the northwestern quadrant.

· Traffic has been shifted to the east side of Ohio 83 through Center Ridge Road heading northbound and southbound. Traffic will stay in this configuration while the final southwestern quadrant of the intersection is being rebuilt.

· The dedicated left-turn lanes have been eliminated and the traffic signal timing will be changed accordingly.

Ohio 83 resurfacing project:

· Ohio 83 in the city of North Ridgeville, from Mills Road to Lorain Road, will have daily single-lane closures for any additional work.

· Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

· Estimated completion: This month.

Note: The resurfacing of Ohio 83 is a separate project from the U.S. 20/Center Ridge Road project.
