The trip • They spent a month fly fishing and touring the North and South Islands. They were there from mid-February to mid-March and arrived back in St. Louis two days before the stay-at-home order began.

Travel tip • Watch travel videos of New Zealand (there are good ones on YouTube) to help plan your itinerary, and book flights (to and in country), rental cars and excursions up to a year in advance.
