Can travel still be available during a pandemic? - fingerlakes1.com

If travelling is in your bucket list this 2020, you’re probably disappointed from all the cancelled flights after the recent quarantine. Planning out your trips from a year ago and learning that this pandemic won’t end soon sucks. Going out of your home is especially scary during this time, and dreaming about going to your dream destination is the only thing you can do while you’re stuck at home.

We understand how frustrating it is to lose money from cancelled flights, hotel bookings, and even a new adventure or experience. We know that you are looking for alternate ways to push through with your travels due to the comeback of flights being available since quarantine, but how safe is it to do so?

According to health professionals, travelling increases your chances of getting and spreading COVID-19. Air or land transportation such as airplanes, buses, cabs, and trains as well as the airport, bus stations, train stations and rest stops are all places people can be exposed to the virus.

Most of the time, it is very difficult to social distance, even with the thought of staying 6 feet away from people. You really don’t know who might be carrying the virus, or better yet, where the virus is lingering in the air or different surfaces. Why, you ask? Traveling requires various procedures before actually getting on an airplane, for example.

Air travel requires steps such as spending time in security lines and airport terminals which can expose you to people or surfaces that may be exposed to the virus.

It is not a question that travelling is available in this pandemic. On the other hand, although it is available, and more and more people are going outside, there is still a possibility of catching the virus.

To make it less scary to go outside, most, if not all companies are protecting their service crew and customers by requiring certain procedures such as wearing a face mask, promoting social distancing, requiring contactless check-ins and payments, and frequent cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

If you are in need to travel out of the country, or considering traveling again, here are a few tips to feel safe not only for yourself, but the other people around you:

  • Wear a face mask in all public settings.
  • Practice social distancing. Stay at least 6 feet away from anyone.
  • Practice good hygiene such as washing your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds every time you touch a surface or use the bathroom.
  • Use hand sanitizer or &0% alcohol to disinfect your hands or surfaces.
  • Use disinfecting wipes before touching any surface.
  • As much as possible, do not dine-in when going to eat.
  • Check travel restrictions and testing requirements before travel.

There are many travelling options despite this pandemic, but the safest ones are companies that implement rules to keep everyone safe. We recommend booking a flight with Velocity Jets, a travel option that redefines private travel.

Velocity Jets offers many aircrafts that provide safe travels. Imagine traveling with minimal people in the plane, feeling safe and comfortable. Better yet, you don’t need to worry about spreading any virus because they promote safe travel procedures too. With their VelocityJets Card, they offer benefits that exceed your travel needs! Schedule a flight and feel safe in the comfort of a booked private jet.
