MILWAUKEE – THE HUB Social Network is joining forces with top agents, suppliers and industry executives to construct a shared vision and a specific set of actions and tactics to help the travel industry to return to prosperity in the weeks and months ahead.

Each week on THE HUB Travel Think Tank, the group will workshop together on the key elements of the Path to Prosperity Plan. These elements include Marketplace Assessment, Rebuilding Consumer Confidence and Trust, and Leveraging Supplier Promotional Sales just to name a few.

“Over the past several months, all facets of our industry have been working extremely hard. Without a doubt, there is a mountain of information, education, and opinions being shared on daily basis via social media, webinars, and by the travel trade media. While all of this is important, the critical piece of the puzzle that no one is fully addressing is a plan and a shared vision for how exactly we should be moving forward. While information is indeed important, it is much more valuable when combined with a defined collective plan of action,” said Tom Brussow, the co-founder of THE HUB.

The group has already met and identified a number of ideas, best practices and solutions that could have wide-scale application for the industry. Among the ideas that came to light in the group’s first meeting included the creation of a new travel industry consumer confidence index and the consolidation of industry research into a shared set of facts that all can work from. The group also identified the need for better tools to more effectively communicate and update travel safety protocols and requirements for both agents and consumers.

With the completion of each weekly Path to Prosperity Travel Think Tank, the ideas and opportunities the group identifies will be added to the plan and prioritized according to impact, resources needed and the timeline for implementation. The consolidated on-going plan will be managed by THE HUB team and is accessible on THE HUB Social Network platform.

“We truly believe that this is a vital part of the recipe for how we get back to a much better place. We (THE HUB) are also in a very unique position to lead on this initiative because we are a world-wide platform not affiliated or beholding to any consortia, supplier, host or association and our membership reflects that. As a result, we can address and serve the needs of the entire industry in a very effective and affordable way”, said Pat Miller, HUB co-founder.

All travel industry members including professional agents, suppliers, tourism boards, DMCs, and attractions are encouraged and welcome to join the Path to Prosperity efforts each Thursday at 3:30 CT.
