The annual lighting ceremony only marks the start of the holiday season.
CLEVELAND — 'Tis the season!
The holidays are upon us and the Downtown Cleveland Alliance kicked off the season on Saturday evening with their annual lighting ceremony at Winterfest.
Winterfest was hosted by 3News’ own Jasmine Monroe alongside radio personality, Mark Nolan at Cleveland's Public Square.
The event featured guest appearances from “Mayor Frank Jackson, DCA’s Joe Marinucci, the Singing Angels, recording artist AC Jones and the jolly man in red,” according to the event's website.
The annual lighting ceremony only marks the start of the holiday season. Several other events and activities are scheduled to take place throughout the remainder of the year.
With virtual and interactive events leading the Winter Fest programming due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all of the happenings are in accordance with CDC guidelines and city and state mandates.
As a precaution, select activities have already been cancelled including Public Square’s skating rink, carriage rides and the Terminal Tower observation deck tours.
