Lady roundballers go 2-1 in holiday week - The Leader Union

The Lady Vandals took two of three matches this week in volleyball action this past week.

Vs. North Clay

The Vandals had no problems handling the Cardinals of North Clay last Tuesday, March 30. They took the match 25-18, 25-9.

Sydney Miller had 5 aces and 4 digs on the night to help in the effort. Abby Guffey had 8 assists in the effort, including 2 kills and one dig. Miley Worker had 7 digs on the night as well as an ace.

Lexi Wehrle had 5 kills, followed by Morgan Lidy with 4, Lauren Hagy, 3; Olivia Dunn and Abby Guffey had 2 each.

Vs.  Litchfield

The Litchfield Purple Panthers didn’t give the Vandals much of a contest either, as the Lady Vandals took the match on Thursday, April 1, 25-16, 25-20.

Lidy led the team in kills with 8, followed by Hagy with 4, Guffey and Dunn with 3 each, and Elizabeth Barenfanger with 1. Guffey had 13 assists for the match, and Ellika Whitman with 6 and Worker and 2.

Hagy led the team in digs 8, closely followed by Worker with 7. Lidy had 4, Dunn had 3 and Guffey had 2.

The JV team also won their match, 25-8, 25-15, as did the freshmen, 21-6, 19-21, 15-5.

Vs. Pana

The team took their sole loss this past week on Monday night, April 5, to the Pana Panthers, dropping 25-20 and 25-17.

Guffey had 2 assists in the contest, and Worker, Hagy and Dunn each had a dig. Barenfanger and Wehrle each had a kill and Barenfanger added an ace in the effort.
