CLEVELAND, Ohio - Temperatures will continue to drop for the first half of the long holiday weekend before rebounding slightly in time for Memorial Day.
The National Weather Service’s forecast for the weekend calls for rain and highs only in the 50s on both Friday and Saturday. Skies will clear by Sunday with highs back in the sixties. Overnight lows will remain chilly throughout the weekend, dropping into the 40s for most areas.
Lake Erie marine forecast
Rain is expected both Friday and Saturday. A Gale Watch is in effect from 11 a.m. Friday morning until 11 a.m. Saturday. Winds could gust up to 45 mph, pushing wave heights up to 6-11 feet. Additionally, the chance of rip currents developing closer to shore is elevated during this time.
For the rest of the weekend, skies look to be mostly clear with highs in the 60s. Wave heights will drop from 4-5 feet on Saturday to one foot or less by the holiday.
Memorial Day 2021 holiday forecast
Expect partly sunny skies and pleasant temperatures with highs in the low 70s on Memorial Day. Winds will remain calm, making for perfect grilling weather.
