Marin fire officials issue fireworks warnings before holiday - The Mercury News

As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, authorities are campaigning across the Marin County to keep fireworks from sparking a catastrophic wildfire during a historic drought.
Fire officials in Novato posted flyers in downtown Novato on Thursday warning of a countywide ban on all fireworks, including so-called “safe and sane” fireworks.
Possession or use of fireworks is a misdemeanor punishable by up to $1,000 in fines and six months in custody.
