I’m American. So Where Can I Travel To Now Around The World? - Forbes

With Covid-19 infection rates still high, people travelling from the U.S. are still not able to travel to many countries around the world. There are a few places, however, that will allow U.S. arrivals, as listed by The New York Times. Here’s where to go, if you were to leave immediately.

Places without quarantine upon arrival

Antigua and Barbuda–a certificate of a negative test must be provided within 7 days of arriving and there are severe fines for people not wearing masks in public (up to $5,000 or six months in jail). Some visitors may be asked to quarantine.

The Bahamas–visitors must carry proof of a negative test taken within the previous week, except some children (depending on which U.S. state they come from). Temperatures will be taken upon arrival and face masks are mandatory for all travel, including taxis.

Bermuda–visitors must pay $75 to take tests at the airport and again on day 3, 7 and 14 of their stay. Guests must bring face masks and thermometers and regularly take their temperature, twice a day, for two weeks.

Croatia–U.S. visitors must have proof of paid accommodation.

Kosovo–visitors are asked to have a test within 4 days of arrival and if arrival is via Pristina airport, officials are asking that people travel in groups no larger than two people.

Mexico–whilst the land border is closed, U.S. travelers can arrive by plane. Only 17 states in Mexico are allowing hotels to partially open, but this includes Cancun.

North Macedonia–there is no test requirement or isolation upon arrival. However, groups larger than 2 people are not allowed in public and masks are obligatory.

Serbia–all border restrictions related to Covid-19 have been removed but the country, as reported in The New York Times, is suffering a spike in infection rates. Emergency troops have been called in to set up a field hospital in Belgrade.

Tanzania–any arrivals must fill out health forms and get screened, possibly including testing.

Turkey–is open to all international travelers but visitors with elevated temperatures may be tested. Face masks are a pre-requisite in all public places. Under 18s are not allowed out unaccompanied and people over 65 can only be outside between 10am and 8pm.

Places where some sort of quarantine is a requirement

Ecuador–arrivals must quarantine in government-appointed hotels for 14 days upon arrival and have proof of a negative Covid-19 test within the past 7 days, or agree to take one upon arrival.

St. Vincent and The Grenadines–visitors must take a test and quarantine in their hotels for 24 hours unless they have proof for a negative test result in the previous 48 hours. If the test is positive, guests must quarantine for 2 weeks in their hotel.

Ukraine–quarantine is essential for 2 weeks after arrival and visitors must show they have insurance to cover all Covid-related circumstances.

Many other places are due to open borders to U.S. travelers in the upcoming days and weeks, so the list is likely to grow soon.
